How To Get Cheap Audiobooks
I learned a trick from Sarah Mackenzie at ReadAloudRevival that I want to pass along to you.
If you or your children enjoy Audiobooks this will excite you.
If your children don’t listen to Audiobooks then they are missing out but this will be a great way to get them started.
We read ALOT to our girls but if they had their way they would be read to all day.
That’s the magic of Audiobooks. Actually, we’ve had to limit Audiobooks lately to only on the weekend because otherwise, they won’t read a book themselves.
Even with the weekend rule they still go thru a lot of Audiobooks.
We do get them from Hoopla or Overdrive via our local library but there are limits to how many you can check out each month.
I’ve looked into Audible before but didn’t want to pay the monthly fee.
This is where the trick from Sarah Mackenzie comes in.
I learned from her that you don’t need an Audible subscription to access their high-quality audiobooks.
You just need to purchase a Kindle version of a book that has an audible for an ADD ON.
For example, I just grabbed “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” by following these directions that Sarah posted.
1.) Go to Amazon. Use this link to take you straight to the one I purchased –> http://amzn.to/2mTdUoc
2.) Right underneath the “Buy now for free” button, choose “add Audible narration for .99 cents
You’ll get the Kindle book and the unabridged audio version read by Anne Hathaway for .99 cents
Even if you don’t want to actually read the book on the Kindle version, do it this way to get the best Audible price.
Plus, you don’t need an Audible subscription for this to work.
Buy the audio books a la carte like this on Amazon and then listen to them on your phone, iPod, tablet, or computer using the free Audible app.
Apparently, Audible changes prices regularly, so double check prices before checking out.

How To Find The Kindle Books With Audios
It took me a little time to figure out how to find which Kindle books have Audios.
Below is my screenshot so you can see what I did.
Look at the top arrow: On Amazon I looked up Audible Audiobooks.
For my example, I selected “Children’s Books > Classics“
Look at the bottom arrow: After you find the Audiobook you are interested in.
Look down at the bottom. If you see “Read and Listen” you know there is a kindle book for this audio.
Click there and it will take you to the Kindle book. You can determine if you want to purchase it then.
After clicked on the blue “buy with Kindle book” I went to the page for the Kindle.
Look over to the Right side where you click to purchase.
Select to “Add Audible Narration” to your Kindle Purchase.
I would love to hear what Audiobooks you find.
