3 Powerful Sources Of Toxins And What To Do About Them

Cleansing and detoxing are becoming buzz words in the health industry.

As a matter of fact, there was a recent Detox Summit held with over 30 speakers on just this topic alone.

Most people are becoming aware that our environment is full of toxins.

From the air we breathe, the food we eat to the water we drink.

Keep reading to learn how we are exposed to toxins and what you can do about it.

3 Ways We Are Exposed To Toxins

These toxins below should be enough to make you consider doing a cleanse or detox.

Be sure to read to the end to learn about the cleanse program I recommend.

Toxins In Our Water

We all take for granted that our water supply is safe.

Have you ever thought about what the added chlorine and fluoride do for us?

Chlorine

Chlorine kills every living organism. That’s why it is added to the water so it can kill the bad germs.

Did you know that chlorine also kills our gut flora, too?

Think about how much chlorine you’re exposed to in your shower every morning or what about in your community swimming pools?

We need it but we also need to be aware that when our skin gets warm it allows the chlorine to absorb into your skin.

Your skin is the largest organ of your body so imagine how much your body may be absorbing.

So even if you avoid drinking tap water you also need to filter your shower, too.

I use this filter in all our showers.

Fluoride

Fluoride has been added to our water to allegedly help fight cavities.

However, over the years they have learned that using fluoride provides very little benefit.

It’s especially bad when we swallow or drink it in our water supply.

It can cause harm to our tissues and in children, the damage can be worse.

You can research fluoride at FluroideAlert.Org

It’s best to drink reverse osmosis water and use a fluoride free toothpaste (we use this is the brand).

Scary huh?

I just named 2 toxins in our water supply.

Recently, the Erin Brockovich” chemical was found in the drinking water of more than 200 million American homes!

Toxins in our food

Toxins In Our Food

Today most conventional grown food is sprayed with pesticides and herbicides then delivered to the store for our purchase.

Pesticides are toxic by design and many of them pose a danger to people.

This has been confirmed by independent research scientists and doctors across the world.

Cancer, hormone disruption, and skin and eye irritation, just to name a few side effects.

Ewg.org list the top 12 foods to purchase organic to avoid these toxins as well as a list of foods that can be purchased conventional without as much exposure.

Preservatives, artificial sweeteners, colors, and flavors are added to our food to make it taste better but it isn’t better for our body.

They are foreign to our body much like toxins are.

Toxic Air

Toxins In Our Air

Indoor air quality is one of the top 5 environmental dangers according to the EPA!

Our grandparents didn’t have to deal with as many chemicals when they were growing up but more and more chemicals are created each year.

Many are created by well-meaning people with the idea that they will benefit us but often times they are wrong.

For example, flame retardants were designed to keep us from burning in our beds but flame retardants are chemicals that are toxic to the body.

Where do we spend 8 hours of our day?

In bed!

Often times, we dress our children in clothes that have flame retardant in them. Double whammy!

What about carbon monoxide?

We all know what happens to a person in a closed garage with the door shut.

We don’t want this gas in our homes either.

Thankfully you can monitor it with an inexpensive detector like this Plug-In Carbon Monoxide Alarm (we placed one near our girl’s bedrooms).

Besides that, we’ve been looking into installing a HEPA air purifier to take care of the airborne microns and other toxins in the air that can’t be removed by dusting or vacuuming.

We have been considering one of the “smart” options found on this list, and I highly recommend that you look into one too.

Bottom Line

We are bombarded with toxins in the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the food we eat.

Use the information above and the other articles on my site to help you get started reducing toxins in your home and life.

All it takes are a few changes each month to make a big impact on your long term health.
