10 Workouts That Burn Calories and Fat

They say you lose 1 pound for every extra 3,500 calories you burn, so by reducing your net caloric intake by 1,000 per day, you'll trim 2 pounds per week.

Sounds simple, huh?

Actually burning 1,000 calories per day is a pretty aggressive strategy and difficult for most people.

An easier and more attainable strategy would be to reduce or burn off  500 calories a day.

With that said, the old calorie in calorie out method isn't the end all be all.

When we eat junk our body doesn't get the nutrients we need. Eating less or burning off 500 calories a day is a great start but getting quality food is even better.

When we build muscle we can burn more fat and calories.

Researchers are discovering that we don't need long workouts to get great results.

I don't know about you, but I'm happy to learn this. I don't have time to spend hours in the gym like I did before kids.

I actually stay leaner now with HIIT workouts and weights than when I spent an hour on the elliptical machine 4 times a week.

Workouts To Do At Home

We work out at home by doing a variety of HIIT and weight workouts. I like my workouts to be fast and efficient.

Here are some of our favorites and ones we haven't tried yet.

Of course, we really don't know how many calories they burn but we do know you will burn some calories, build muscle, and burn off some fat.
