I use a variety of essential oils each week.
Sometimes, I diffuse an oil to freshen the air or I grab Lavender for a burn.
Recently, I slathered on Lavender and Peppermint when I had a headache but it didn’t quite work.
So I went searching for other oils to add to the blend.
I ended up adding Frankincense because it’s what I had on hand and it helped.
There are a few different combinations of essential oils you can try to help relieve your headaches and you’ll need to experiment to see what works for you.
Which Essential Oil Brands To Use
There are many safe essential oil brands on the market to use.
I’ve used many brands over the years and generally return to Young Living, Doterra, Plant Therapy, or Simply Earth (read my review here) to purchase my oils.
If you wish to purchase a blend specifically for headaches try the Simply Earth Head Soothing Essential Oil Blend.
This Is My Current Diffuser
My favorite diffuser is this one I got on Amazon almost 5 years ago.
I use it almost daily and it still works great.
I purchased this one last year because it was on sale.
If you see it for less than $20 then buy several.
It’s always nice to have an extra one on hand to give to a friend who is sick or for a last-minute gift.
My girls love it because it changes colors or they can turn the light off.

Should You Use A Carrier Oil?
I usually don’t use a carrier oil on myself but I use one when I use essential oils on my daughters.
So far the best combination for my daughter who gets migraines is a roller blend of Coconut oil, 5 drops of Lavender, and 5 drops of Peppermint.
She keeps it by her bed and in her purse.
Note: Be sure to test all oils before you decide to use them straight on your skin because some oils can burn sensitive skin.
If you are sensitive to an oil wash it off with coconut oil or olive oil, not water.

Remember to experiment to see what works best for you. I’d start with peppermint and if it doesn’t work alone then start adding other oils until you get just the right blend for you.
