Best Essential Oils For Travel

Best Essential Oils For Travel

Just about any essential oil you use at home will be good for travel.

The key will be to remembering to take them with you! I left mine at home the last time we went to the beach and I really missed my lavender!

Lavender, Lemon, and Peppermint are some of the most popular essential oils but a blend like Simply Earth’s Defender Blend may come in really handy to prevent sickness.

Yes, You Can Carry Your Essential Oils On A Plane

According to TSA regulations, you can carry as many 5 or 15ml bottles that will fit in a 1-quart plastic bag.

If you don’t have room to carry them on you can pack your oils in your checked luggage but be sure to pack them in sealed bags with a few paper towels in case they leak.

Also, as a courtesy apply your oils before boarding or use diluted sprays ahead of time if possible.

Diffuser Nose Rings

I know these sound weird but they are silicone nose rings you soak in your oils and then wear on your nose.

These are perfect for any time you have to wear a mask or in the car where no one really sees you.

Admittedly my girls make fun of me when I wear mine but no one outside the family even knows I wear mine.

Except for that one time I forgot to take it out and my friend said “WHAT IS THAT ON YOUR NOSE??!!”🤣

Essential Oil Precautions

  • Not all essential oils are suitable for children, the elderly, or pregnant women. So, be sure to check before you use them.
  • Always keep your essential oil bottles stored away from direct sunlight, in a cool, dry area, and ensure the bottles are closed tightly.
  • You should always test a new essential oil before use, just place it on a small patch of your skin to see how your body reacts.
  • In general, essential oils should not be ingested. However, there are certain essential oils that are available in food-grade quality.
  • Don’t use undiluted oils directly on your skin, most essential oils should be used with a carrier oil.
  • Pregnant? Speak to your doctor about essential oil use before using it.
  • Keep your essential oils out of reach of pets and children.
  • Essential oils should not replace treatments that your doctor has prescribed or recommended.
